Nordic skiing builds fitness, determination, character, and a life-long love of the outdoors. We offer three levels of programing to support kids and teens across their development:
Which option is right for your child? Individual program details can be found below. If you have questions please email us at info@teacupnordic.org and one of our coaches will be in touch.
- The Youth Program is designed for kids 6-10 years old. The main focus is on having fun while learning to ski! We use classic skis and work to instill comfort and confidence so your child can ski athletically across all trails. Make friends and enjoy a myriad of weekend adventures!
- The Pipeline Program is intended to help youth go "to the next level". Generally around age 10 (or younger, with coach approval) we introduce skate skiing and more focused efforts on classic ski technique. Racing and skiing as an athletic pursuit is introduced but race involvement is not required. This is also where kids who did not go through a youth learn to ski program can get caught up with individualized attention from our experienced coaching staff. This program hopes to endow kids with a lifetime ability to enjoy and ski efficient for a healthy lifestyle.
- The Team Program is for youth ages 12 through high school who are excited to ski fast and compete at local and regional race events. The Team Program can compete and race with the region's best clubs in the PNSA Division of US Ski & Snowboard. The coaching is individually tailored and focused, the goal being to create fit, strong, and confident athletes. This program welcomes multi-sport athletes; the movement principles and strength used in Nordic skiing are useful benefits to all sports.
For your kid's safety and to ensure a positive sport environment, please know we require all coaches (be they paid or volunteers who regularly interact and support our programs) to go though USSA's background check process. We also require "SAFESPORT" training; learn more at www.uscenterforsafesport.org/about/our-story
