TEACUP NORDIC OUTSTANDING JUNIOR OF THE YEAR!
2020/21 Season
The Teacup Board and Coaching staff are proud to announce and recognize Sophie Corkran as this year’s outstanding Junior skier!
You may know Sophie from her passing you on the trails, or from reading her wonderful race recaps infused with positivity, a joy for skiing and an appreciation for competitive challenge; all essential elements of an athletic life well lived. Teacup Coach Karl Andersson notes how “Sophie always has a joy of movement, a great flow down the track.” And adds, “Her tenacity is inspiring.”
Sophie, who is finishing her junior year in high school, expresses appreciation for “Coach Karl’s enthusiasm and encouragement, as well as for the great Teacup community that makes it so fun to ski there.”
Looking forward, Sophie is excited to continue improving her fitness and ski technique with the goal being to make the 2022 Junior Nationals team. When she is not ski training or in school she can be found rocking out on her drum set or learning new songs on her guitar.
